We Care Support Services Therapy services support adults and children with disability at all ages and life stages. Our flexible and qualified team of experienced therapists can provide you with support across physiotherapy, occupational therapy, speech pathology and psychology.

Our therapists can support you to meet your individual goals and enhance your quality of life by:

How we can help

We Care Support Services Therapy team supports people with disability and their families who have a National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) Plan, Department of Health and Human Services funding, Medicare, or are self-funded.

Some of the services we can provide include:

Daily living skills

Our therapists assist people with disability to develop daily living skills to become more independent at home, school, work and out in the community. We can provide comprehensive assessments, as well as individual and group-based interventions to assist you to develop particular skills.

Improved relationships through Positive Behaviour Support

We Care Support Services specialises in providing support to children and adults with disability who present with behaviour of concern and are seeking to improve their relationships. By taking a human rights focus and building on an evidence-based approach, Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) focuses on increasing a person’s quality of life and decreasing the frequency and severity of their behaviour of concern.

Specialist Children’s Supports

We Care Support Services provides specialist therapies and supports for children with developmental delay or disability, recognising the importance of early intervention in building a child’s functional capacity.

Our team are experienced in early childhood early intervention, where a transdisciplinary team work together to improve the capacity of a child and their family. This means a team of therapists, for example a physiotherapist, occupational therapy and psychologist work together to support a child and their family.

Social and community living skills

We can assist people with disability to develop their social skills, form meaningful relationships and actively participate in the community.

Home modifications

We Care Support Services can assess and make recommendations for home modifications for people with disability and their families, including funding applications or work with public housing authorities.

Sensory assessment and profile development

Our therapists can assess sensory processing patterns in children and adults, and how these may impact on everyday living activities. They can advise on how the sensory environment can be modified to enable the person to better cope; or on ways to assist the person to respond more effectively to sensory input.

Aids and equipment

We prescribe, source funding and assist with the purchase of aids and equipment for people with disability and their families. This includes communication technology, home and vehicle modifications and assistive equipment.

We can complete funding applications for suitable assistive technology, home and vehicle modifications.

Communication

We Care Support Services speech pathologists can support you to overcome communication barriers and specialise in augmentative and alternative communication (AAC).

We can complete funding applications for AAC devices to the Electronic Communication Devices Scheme (ECDS) or to the NDIS.

Diagnostic Services – ASD, ID

We Care Support Services specialises in the assessment and diagnosis of Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and Intellectual Disability (ID), in children and adults.

Physical assessments

Our physiotherapists and occupational therapists assist people with disability with:

• movement and mobility: to increase access and independence, to reduce pain and discomfort or to improve general fitness , and
• posture and positioning: to increase comfort and functional ability while managing the risk of injury to yourself or others.

Safe mealtimes

Our speech pathologists can provide assessment of eating and swallowing difficulties, to ensure mealtimes are safe and comfortable for people who experience dysphagia.

Sensory assessment and profile development

Our specialists can assess sensory processing patterns in children and adults, in their everyday living activities. From these assessments we can support the person and their support network to identify strategies to perceive and respond to sensory information that may be impacting on how they live their life.

We Care Support Services Therapy team can also provide assessment, training, report writing, plan development and intervention for individuals, parents, teams and school staff.
